On this day, I am thinking of when I went to take a second look at an antique desk I had found at the St Vincent de Paul store. The first time I saw the desk, a large picture frame had been placed on top of the desk. I expected the same scene when I went to check out the desk I had scene. However, this time I saw that a picture of St Padre Pio had relaced the previous picture frame. The quote on the picture says, "Pray, Hope, and Don't Worry." I felt teary eyed when I saw the Padre Pio picture. I had been praying the rosary for help. I left my old job to be a live in care taker for my mom. I filed an unemployment claim to help pay for expenses while I search for a new job in a new area. The process for the claim has been way too long, and I am still waiting for a determination. I have been agonizing over it and worried over my finances and this new life here with my mom and my young dog. Was Padre Pio sent to watch over me? Upon seeing the Padre Pio picture on the desk, I felt compelled to get the desk and the Padre Pio picture. To me, I saw it as a sign. Recently, I went back to St Vincent de Paul's. I felt an urge to go and look around. I went to the aisle with the various religious figurines, and I looked at a small basket of prayer cards and necklace medallions. The top two prayer cards showed a St Padre Pio chaplet and a prayer card with a Padre Pio relic. I bought the two prayer cards and placed them on the night table next to my bed. Are Saints sent to watch over us? Do Saints choose us to be a patron for us and show us a way to the Lord?
