It is Sunday evening, and I am playing classical music to get my ten week old puppy to sleep. That has become our routine in the evening, and now I feel free to relax a bit. There has been many adventures with this new Golden Retriever puppy. She is a bundle of joy with a whole lot of fireball mixed in. I will write more about her later, but for now I will leave this entry to be an introduction of this page. This is my second blog I have attempted to create. The first one was short-lived and disorganized, but I have finally resolved to write. It is something I have been putting off for quite awhile. There are times when one has to allow permission for herself to begin new adventures. Suddenly, I am reminded of a conversation with my ex boyfriend's mother. She didn't seem to approve of my desire to write or explore my creative side, but she did say once, "If you want to write, then just write". She was referring to my desire to take some college English classes, but perhaps it is a good instruction. Why put off something I have been wanting to do? So, just write. Most of this page will be devoted to writings on past and current experiences, and I hope to add photos and art that I like to dabble in. Basically, delving into the creative side that I am finally discovering. I believe I would have to partially thank Covid for the personal time to explore interests in photography and painting. Prior to Covid, I didn't even know that I could draw and paint, and now Google has become my art class reference guide. I think what has inspired me to create this page is the golden retriever puppy I brought home two weeks ago. She is my second Golden Retriever, but the puppy stage seems more challenging this time around. I got my first Golden when I was in the Air Force, and maybe I was too busy with that work to notice the challenges of bringing a new pet into the home. That was 15 years ago, so maybe the puppy year has become a blur to me. My first dog was a little more sedate than this puppy. She was a playful puppy, and she often tried to steal my dinners. I remember she would use my cheap, build yourself furniture as teething toys. This puppy I have now does have her chew toys, but she prefers to jump and play on me and use me as her teething toy. It is a challenge to be sure to distract her with these puppy teething chew toys. Sometimes it is a success and sometimes not. A few times I have taken her to the pet store, and being so distracted I almost forget my keys or cell phone at the cash register. Why don't I remember these challenges with my first dog? So, these topics will be often on my mind, how else can I sort it out? Which brings me to this page. What an adventure it will be! And now, it is getting late. The puppy is sleeping on the floor near the couch, and I don't think I can listen to more classical music this evening. I look around this living room, and I see the puppy toys scattered and the laundry I didn't get to this weekend. And, the dishes that I will toss in the dishwasher in the morning. Perhaps one more puppy walk outside and then off to bed, I hope.
