Amelia... A smart, clever puppy and a ball of fire (mainly in the evenings). She is a joy, but raising a puppy can be a frustration. Thankfully, she is napping now. I take a walk with her in the morning, and I have realized how much she needs a walk in the evening. She has so much energy, and she is getting to the age in which her adult teeth are coming in. So, the furniture needs to be on alert and protected with a bitter tasting spray. The puppy certainly has enough toys to keep her company, but she loves to chew on my hand or arm more than the toys. That is one of the main concerns I have with the puppy. She barks to say hello and for attention. She loves to greet people, but she has to learn not to jump up on them. I have moved in with my mother because she is getting older, and the puppy needs to learn to be gentle with the older people. This new situation is another adjustment in my life. 49 years old and living with my mom and a 6 month old puppy. I am starting to get settled in, and the next step is to find a job. I would love to conduct research on my computer at home, but I definitely think I am going to need my space which means working outside of the home. This is a two bedroom, two bathroom apartment, so I don't think there is a lot of space for a home office. A lot of adjustments, but I think I would rather be here than at my old job. Some duties of old my old job consisted of research and photography, but I was not enjoying the work as much as I used to. The work was getting too repetitive that I felt like I was on a never ending merry go round. It was going around with the same old view. But what got worse is when I began to feel like I was in a snow globe. I could see the world outside the glass, and I couldn't get out. I had been at the company for several years and conducted a lot of work, but I felt as though I was talking and no one listening. They were going about their business, and my opinions would just fall on death ears. I felt as though I could bang on the snow globe glass, and those outside the glass could not hear me. I guess that can happen when one is not a manager and just a worker bee. So, I decided it was time to move on. My mother needed to live with one of us kids, and here I am. Starting over. Taking her to appointments, looking after my golden retriever puppy, and trying to figure out how to pay my bills.
